Metropolitan Bldg

Ashling and Jason got married across the street from their apartment on the Upper East Side. Right after the ceremony they ran out on 1st Ave and caught a cab to The Metropolitan Building in Long Island City.

A big thanks to Brett Garamella for second shooting and letting me play with his Nikon and to Kate O’Donnell from Green Apple Weddings for all the planning and coordination.

portraits

My mission statement at the beginning of this blog stated that I would only post candid images of real moments. Well, I have said it before. Rules are for breaking.

Portraits are an important part of the visual storytelling. What happens in front of the camera is largely unscripted and the moment inspired by the feelings and the surroundings.

roving wedding party

Sorry about the slow reply – my work has been chaos and we have both been overwhelmed by these photos. They are wonderful and beyond our even high expectations. I wanted to make sure to draft something that began to capture that sentiment, and in that line, thank you so much, you made the day and did it so subtly and so perfectly.
The photos are beautiful.

Midtown Loft and Terrace

Katherine and Gabe met nearly a decade ago while studying at NYU. They are now living in Munich, Bavaria but returned to New York to get married at Midtown Loft and Terrace on 5th Avenue between the Flatiron and Empire State Building.

A big thank you to Kira Sandler, event planner from Naturally Delicious for helping putting this fantastic event together.
